Mr. David Levinson

           Founder and Executive Director BIG SUNDAY

David Levinson is the Founder and Executive Director of Big Sunday. On Big Sunday Weekend ‘10, more than 50,000 volunteers of all ages, from all over Southern California, worked together at more than 500 different nonprofit sites. David and Big Sunday have been honored by many organizations, including The Religious Action Center, Hillsides Home for Children, The Asian-Pacific Women’s Center, The Western Center of Law and Poverty, and The Association of Fundraising Professionals. Both David and Big Sunday have been profiled in many places, including the Wall Street Journal, a front-page story in the Los Angeles Times, and the NBC Nightly News. Last spring, David was named Best Nonprofit Leader in California by Governor Schwarznegger and Maria Shriver. David has also written movies, television, theatre, theme park attractions, and advertising. His book, Everyone Helps, Everyone Wins: How Absolutely Anyone Can Pitch in, Help Out, Give Back, and Make the World a Better Place, will be published by Hudson Street Press, a division of Viking/Penguin, in October. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Ellie Herman, and their three children, Becca, Jack, and Izzie..

local government and our Interfaith Religious Communities.

to encourage Americans to pray for the nation, its people and their leaders.
